"Helpful when we were stuck abroad"
My husband got sick while we were abroad, so I ended up calling AXA not really knowing what to expect. The medical team picked up quickly and pointed us to a clinic, which was a relief because in that moment you’re just trying to figure out… well, what to do next. The claim did take a little longer than I would’ve liked, but overall they were helpful when we actually needed support.

"Approved less than I expected"
I had a feeling they were going to lowball the approval, that’s pretty much what happened. The amount they approved was less than what seemed fair to me, which just confirmed what I was already worried about going in.

My first impression was that the 24/7 help was actually legit. I was abroad and needed support, and they got back to me quickly without making it a hassle. Easy win in my book

I reached out to support expecting a little help, but the whole interaction felt rude. The person I dealt with gave off serious Captain Customer-Is-Annoying vibes, like answering basic questions was some huge inconvenience. Not the worst experience ever, but definitely not a friendly one...
"Decent cover, but a bit overpriced"
The cover itself was okay, but I felt like the price was a bit too high for what you actually get. After I’d already bought it, I found similar policies for less, so it didn’t really feel like great value for money to me.

I was looking at AXA Travel Insurance for a trip and what stood out to me was that the exclusions weren’t buried in tiny confusing wording. I could quickly see what wasn’t covered, especially when it came to pre-existing conditions and changing the trip. I’m not going to pretend I compared every little thing or that I know how it would go for every situation, but for what I needed, it felt clear enough. That made me a lot more comfortable buying the policy since I wasn’t left guessing.

The site looks legit at first, but a few things still felt kind of unclear to me?? I reached out to support, their answers didn’t make me feel much more confident. I’m not saying it’s bad, but would I buy without checking other insurers first?? Probably not.

"Communication was okay, but a bit slow"
I used AXA Travel and the communication was average. I guess I assumed they’d get back to me a little faster, especially since with travel insurance you usually expect quick answers. They did respond to my questions, but it took longer than I thought it would, and I had to follow up once. The person I dealt with was polite and eventually gave me the info I needed, but at first it felt a little unclear. Overall, not a bad experience, but not especially great either. Faster and more direct updates would make a big difference.

I bought travel insurance through axatravelinsurance but ended up needing to cancel my trip. getting the refund sorted was a simple thing made way harder than it needed to be. I had to follow up a few times, and the replies were slow. I did eventually get my money back, so it wasn’t a total disaster, but it took much longer than I expected and was more frustrating than it should have been...

"Bag claim paid out, but communication felt lacking"
My bag went missing while I was in Spain, so I had to make a claim with AXA. It did get sorted in the end and they paid out, which I appreciated, but the whole thing took a bit longer than I expected. At times I felt a bit ignored and wasn’t really sure what was happening with the claim. Overall it was fine, just not the smoothest experience.

"Still waiting and feeling passed around"
I’m still waiting for an actual resolution, and it feels like I’ve just been passed from one person to another without anyone really helping. Then the complaint was closed like everything was sorted, but nothing has actually been fixed.

Maybe it’s just me, but I felt like I kept sending everything they asked for and then they’d come back asking for more papers. My claim is still stuck, and it’s getting really annoying.

"Pretty straightforward experience"
I used the AXA travel insurance portal today, it was simple enough. The quote, details, and payment were all in one place, so I didn’t really have to jump around between pages. I’m not sure if it’s always this smooth, but on my phone the pages loaded quickly, which was a nice surprise. I also liked being able to check the documents right after buying. Overall, I’d say it was a easy experience

"Trip cancellation claim was a pain"
I got AXA travel insurance mostly because I wanted trip cancellation coverage, and of course when I actually had to use it, it turned into a whole mess. They kept asking for more documents, then after all that still came back with a reason not to pay. The policy sounded a lot more useful when I bought it than it ended up being. Wouldn’t get it again.

"Frustrating delay claim experience"
I had a 9-hour flight delay and thought getting compensation would be straightforward. Sending in the paperwork was fine, but after that I was just waiting for weeks and kept getting the same generic replies. In the end, they did pay me something, but it was less than I expected, and the explanation wasn’t very clear. Not sure how to explain it, but the whole thing just felt more difficult than it needed to be. Not the worst experience ever, just frustrating.

"Easy enough, but something felt a bit off"
I managed to buy my travel policy without too much hassle, and the website was generally easy to get around. That said, something felt a bit off when I was comparing the different cover levels, it wasn’t as clear as I expected and took me longer than it probably should have. The price seemed fair, so overall it was okay. Not a bad experience, just not quite as smooth as I’d hoped...

They did pay out in the end, but I had to keep chasing them over and over, which was exhausting. It felt like such a waste of time and energy for something that should’ve been handled much more smoothly
